On the 14th of December 1926 Agatha Christie turned up at The Old Swan Hotel Harrogate - the well known and popular author had started a nation wide manhunt when she went missing from her Surrey home on the 3rd of December. Over 1000 police officers and members of the public were involved in the search to no avail until a keen eyed banjo player at The Old Swan Hotel Harrogate spotted her and reported to police. Agatha herself never explained her sudden disappearance event to her death though various theories have been expounded it remains unexplained to this day.
