Festival of Flavours at Harlow Carr

Harlow Carr Harrogate brings as part of their ongoing calendar of events the Festival of Flavours. This event is all about showcasing foods and flavours with special guest Chef appearances by Masterchef 2022 winner Eddie Scott and finalists Yemi Abimbola Adelekan and Afsaneh Kaviani who bring their individual skill and style while using seasonal fruit and veg. There will also be opportunities to meet local suppliers and ask questions.

• Eddie Scott (Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 11am) is taking the culinary world by storm since being crowned MasterChef Champion 2022. Eddie creates classic, bold flavours with a healthy dose of nostalgia, often with an exciting Indian twist in his classically inspired food.
• Olayemi ‘Yemi’ Abimbola Adelekan (Saturday and Sunday at 12noon) is ‘a foodie who never stops imagining what else can be cooked’. Originally from Nigeria, she reached the semi-finals of Masterchef 2022 and is currently writing her first cookery book.
• Afsaneh Kaviani (Saturday and Sunday at 2pm) was a finalist in Masterchef 2012 and offers private catering and cooking classes, with a mission to spread her passion and understanding of Persian cuisine far and wide.
• Gilly Robinson (Saturday at 3pm) owns The Cook’s Place in Malton and teaches cooking in a way that encourages future chefs to use local and sustainable produce with less waste, and shows everyone that food is fun!
• Farmison & Co (Saturday at 10am) was founded by John and Lee in 2011 with a mission to get the nation eating better meat. Based in Ripon they work with a network of small family farms close to their base, raising heritage breeds on pasture the old-fashioned way, in balance with the environment.
• Season Well (Saturday at 11am) is a social enterprise whose purpose is to get more people using local, seasonal sustainable food to create great tasting, healthy meals, while respecting the environment. They're going to be making Palestinian chard and lentil soup with herb flatbread.
• Iain Wilkinson (Sunday at 3pm) is the Head Chef at Yolk Farm Kitchen, the world’s first egg restaurant, on an egg farm less than 10 miles from Harlow Carr. Passionate about fresh produce, Iain is known for his innovative and creative style of cooking.
• Chris McPhee (Sunday at 1pm) creates vibrant, simple and seasonal food full of natural flavour. A huge advocate of growing fruit and vegetables, the garden is his main enthusiasm and drive for the delicious food he produces.
• Phil Gommersal, President of the National Allotment Society (Sunday at 10am) will talk about allotment gardening on a shoestring (a pretty well worn one at that).
