Spotlight on Suppliers:  The Mexican Coffee Company

At The Camberley, we believe it’s the little things that turn a good stay into a great one. Freshly made beds, locally sourced breakfasts, a warm welcome – and, of course, the perfect cup of coffee in the morning.

That’s why we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on one of our favourite suppliers: The Mexican Coffee Company.

The Mexican Coffee Company is a brilliant, family-run business, with a passion for high-quality, ethically sourced coffee. Their beans are grown high in the Chiapas region of southern Mexico, an area known for producing coffee with a smooth, chocolatey richness and delicate fruity notes. It’s a flavour that’s as comforting as it is vibrant – just the thing to start your day off right.

What we love most about this company (besides the delicious coffee, of course) is its commitment to doing things correctly. They work directly with coffee-growing communities in Mexico, ensuring that farmers are paid fairly and supported in sustainable growing practices. It’s coffee with a conscience – and it tastes all the better for it.  This company is not only ethical but also environmentally aware.   They describe their brew as Biocoffee because their farmers study the environment in which they grow the coffee plants to find natural ways to enhance the coffee's quality. Most importantly, from our perspective, the farms are integrated into the existing environment.  Many coffee farms are established in areas that have been deforested.  However, the Mexican Coffee Company farmers establish their farms within forested areas so there is a symbiotic relationship: the environment changes the coffee, and the coffee enhances the environment.

Take a look at some of the photos they sent us of the areas where their coffee is being grown.

When we were looking for a coffee supplier for the guest house, we wanted more than just a great brew. We wanted a company whose values aligned with ours: personal, thoughtful, and committed to quality. The Mexican Coffee Company ticked every box.

Their beans produce a coffee that’s smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced – strong enough to wake you up, but gentle enough to savour.

Each morning, we brew their coffee fresh for our guests, and there’s something so comforting about walking into a breakfast room filled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee. It sets the tone for a relaxing, enjoyable day – whether you’re heading off on a local walk, exploring nearby towns, or attending an event at one of the many venues in Harrogate.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple goal: to make our guests feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. Serving excellent coffee is just one of the ways we do that – but it’s one that makes a big impression.

So next time you stay with us, take a moment over your morning cup. Enjoy the flavour, the warmth, and the care that’s gone into every sip – from the Mexican hillsides where the beans are grown to our breakfast table, where we serve it just for you.
