The Moonbeams and Friends Settle folk festival 2016 have a number of acts for your enjoyment this  year, firstly The Moonbeams themselves play original music which brings out the wonderful culture of the dales, their recent album Watching Wildlife came 37th in The Telegraphs top folk albums of 2015. The William Small Small Orchestra is led by the legendary Mike Harding who is accompanied by his very own foot stomping Ceilidh band. Also joining the line up is Ben Avison and Sam Lawrence who are two very talented and outstanding local musicians again play original songs on guitars, pipes, whistles, mandolin and the accordion. Karin Grandal-Park and Rosie Glegg will play original songs together with both traditional and contemporary covers, during the songs they include the use of guitars, banjo's and harmonies. The Darley Mill Centre

Situated in a 17th-century corn mill on the banks of the River Nidd, The Darley Mill Centre is home to a host of old-timey attractions. Historical features include an 18th-century miller’s cottage and a working waterwheel dating back to 1874. The Yorkshire Dales in spring are a wonderful place to be. Since making my home here 30 years ago spring continues to be my favourite season for getting out and finding new places to paint. 
And it is to the Dales that my touring exhibition, Places of Pilgrimage, is going next. As this collection of paintings and prints travels round the country I am "weighting" it towards each different location. So, in this show, there are new paintings of Masham, Ribblehead Viaduct, Saltaire and Coverdale.

Settle Stories Festival is an annual celebration of stories, music, comedy and art now in its 6th year. I am delighted to have been asked to take part by reading from my book Tales of the Dales and showing some of the paintings which the stories have inspired. The reading is in the lovely surroundings of Gavagan Art at the Town Hall, Market Place, Settle, N Yorks. BD24 9EJ.
