6oz butter - softened
6oz caster sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
5fl oz milk
Set Oven to 325F or Mark 3. Grease baking sheets. Beat together the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. sift in the flour and baking powder and fold in. Mix to a stiff dough with sufficient of the milk. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and roll out to no more than 1/8th inch thick. Cut into 2 inch rounds with a cutter. Arrange the biscuits on the baking sheet and bake for about 30 minutes until golden. Makes abotu 36 biscuits.
