A Turkish bath ritual is a journey of heating, cooling and cleansing the body, promoting a sense of relaxation and a clear mind. Your experience will give you access to the steam room with eucalyptus-infused steam, which aims to relax your body, alleviate muscle tension and open up pores; the heated chambers, made up of the Tepidarium (warm room), Calidarium (hot room) and Laconium (hottest room); the plunge pool, that aims to purify and detoxify the body; and the relaxation room, which is the perfect way to round off the experience. Throughout the Turkish Baths there are showers to wash away any impurities on the body and prepare your skin for the next experience. Now that's what we call a Turkish delight... The Workhouse Museum is housed within the old Ripon Workhouse, carefully maintained to keep the memory and the detail alive today. Visitors can explore the building and the gardens, catching a glimpse of insight into what life was like for someone in the workhouse. The kitchen garden grows the fruit and vegetables that were typically grown and eaten in the workhouse, while the museum itself is housed within what was once the ‘Male Vagrants’ section of the workhouse, with many original fixtures and artefacts to look at. Prison and Police Museum In this museum, the history of policing is displayed through collections of uniforms, artefacts and anecdotes, which give an insight into how the profession has progressed and developed throughout history. The experience of visiting the museum is immersive, with staff dressed in period dress and incarcerated ‘prisoners’ populating the cells. Guests can experience life in a Victorian prison cell, watch some audiovisual displays and look at the old police uniforms that are on display. Courthouse Museum The Courthouse Museum was a working courthouse until 1998, and visitors now can explore the old Jury Room, the Justices’ Retiring Room and the Court Room. Here, visitors can learn about the justice system and how it has developed through the ages, and where the traditions come from. The Court Room is adorned in the style of what it would have looked like in the 19th century, embracing the rich history of the criminal justice system. Choose Between Two Options

Fake Festivals returns to Harrogate for the 10th Anniversary tour The UK’s only touring tribute festival returns to Harrogate this summer and is celebrating its 10th anniversary. All the fun kicks off at The Stray on Saturday 23rd July, with three major tribute acts and five local support bands, who will be turning up the heat this summer. “Last year was yet another success for Fake Festivals at Harrogate, and the event was once again a sell-out. This year we are back even stronger with another fabulous line-up with something for everyone,” says Danni Saxton, licensee for Harrogate Fake Festival. 2016 will see world-class tributes to Queen, Kasabian and U2 hit the stage at The Stray, along with five lucky local support bands. The 10th anniversary celebrations will be going on all day and night, and there will be the main bar inside the marquee, and a variety of food and entertainment stalls in the outside arena. “It’s hard to believe that Fake Festivals started out in a small Lincolnshire village ten years ago, and now tours around the UK,” says Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals. “I can clearly remember the day, and never imagined it would take off like it has. I’m really proud to be able to say we are the UK’s only touring tribute festival, and that we have kept it community-led to, and not sold out to commercial pressures that a lot of festivals experience nowadays.” Discounted early bird tickets are already on sale until 23rd June from the Fake Festivals website, www.fakefestivals.co.uk, and are priced as follows: Adult £16.50 Young Person (10-17 years) £9.00 Family (2 Adults, 2 Young Persons) £42.00 Under 10’s are FREE The Big Fake Festival takes place again this year at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire from 2nd to 4th September, where all of the twenty tribute bands will be performing.
